Innovation in microscopy doesn't happen every day, but the Apex Iscope is just that. How often have photographers wanted to get their cameras up close and personal to tiny objects only to find they can't focus on them. The Iscope can! There are two ways of looking at it. It is either a camera that can magnify up to x200 or it is a microscope that can act as its own camera. On this occasion both are right. The Iscope has a 1/3 inch colour CMOS chip that provides images up to 5M through a series of lower options. It will take still images or record video clips. The Iscope is constructed to look in many ways just like an ordinary digital camera. It has the usual controls and a large 3.5'' live view screen. It is the lens system that makes the difference. It will focus right up to your subject - 0mm! and it has brightness controlled built in LED lights with the added twist of infra red LED's that allow the camera to see in the dark! Depending on the distance the camera is held from the subject it will give a magnification of x10 to x100, and on top of this there is a x4 digital zoom giving a total potential of x800. All the usual camera menu options are there including anti camera shake, white balance, auto exposure etc. Images are recorded on an SD card and downloaded to a computer by USB just like an ordinary camera. In addition there is a corded remote control that can operate both the shutter and LED brightness without the risk of camera shake. The camera unit comes complete with focus aide blocks and a very neat carrying case.

This is an ingenious support stand for the Apex Handheld TV Microscope. This removes any handshake effects on the TV image. The lever controlled suction base clamps like a limpet to any smooth bench or desk surface. The flexi-arm can then be bent to position the unit over the specimen. Excellent value. Shown in one of the pictures with a TV Microscope attached and positioned over a PCB circuit board. The TV microscope has to be purchased separately.Main features:- A Flexi-arm stand for the Apex Handheld TV Microscope- Unique suction base attaches the unit solidly on any smooth surface- The Apex Handheld TV Microscope simply slides into the clasp- The unit can then be positioned at the requested height about the specimen- This is the stand only, the TV Microscope is purchased separately

The Apex Zoomview is a handheld microscope that can magnify up to x200 and display an image on any television through the AV port. Simply tune the television to the correct AV channel and the image appears automatically. The Zoomview is cordless and will work up to 30 feet away from its docking centre allowing the unit to obtain images from all sorts of difficult to reach places. The docking station simply attaches to the television via its AV lead and the Zoomview communicates with the docking station by wireless. The built in LED lights have a brightness control and produce really clear coloured images. There is a choice of four communication channels between the Zoomview and the docking station. The unit is powered by internal rechargeable batteries that will last for several hours between each charge. As well as being a handheld microscope, the Zoomview will also focus into the distance like a normal CCTV camera. In the box is the Handheld Zoomview Microscope, the docking station, transformer plug with recharging lead and the leads to connect the docking station to the television. For TV and projectors, but would need a TV video encoder to work with a computer.Main features:- A handheld microscope producing magnified images on a TV or projector- Magnifies between x5 and x200 with built in LED lighting giving bright colour images- Superb education and teaching tool- Cordless and will work up to 30 ft away from the docking station/TV- Stands are available as an accessory

The AM413T was designed for professional users who demand sharp picture quality as well as access to comprehensive measurement functions There are other 'lookalike' products available at much cheaper prices that are great fun. However the Dino-Lite range stands apart from these with its build quality, performance, software, 2 year warranty and product support. Excellence does not come cheaply. The Dino-Lite is a new concept in magnification bringing together some of the benefits of a microscope with a digital camera that can take video clips and still images. The main advantage of the Dino-Lite is its portability and the fact that it can be used in places and for applications that are outside the reach of conventional microscopes. This is a professional product and the DinoCapture software mesurement features are enabled. Once an image has been captured the user enters the magnification value, as read from the microscope dial, after which measurements such as length, angle and circle circumference can be taken and added to the image as text and graphics. The 'Microtouch' function allows snapshot to be taken by lightly touching the the sensor area. The images are of a fly, rock fossil, a piece of engineered metal and the print of a stamp.

The AM2111 is the entry level version from the Dino-Lite range of professional quality handheld USB digital microscopes. There are other 'lookalike' products available at much cheaper prices that are great fun. For those just interested in the world around them they can provide a fascinating insight and are excellent as a family teaching tool that can make science fun. In the commercial world and industry they can be invaluable for presentations and examining items in situations that preclude the use of a standard microscope. Whilst they are designed to be hand held they do benefit from the use of a stand which makes steady focusing easier. Stands are available separately and are listed in our range of products and one is shown here with the microscope in place. We like to describe all our products accurately and whilst the Dino-Lite has many unique applications in truth it cannot replace or replicate all that microscopes are used for, the AM2111 would not really be suitable for insect dissections or looking at microscope slides for example. Nevertheless a valuable addition to the microscopy and inspection world. The images show a house fly, the surface of a rock mineral and the print of a postage stamp at the highest magnification.
